Conestoga Students Inc. is led by a group of motivated and passionate students – the CSI Board of Directors. The students who make up the Board of Directors are elected during the CSI's annual election campaign!

Why Should You Run For the CSI Board of Directors?

Running for the CSI Board of Directors provides you with the opportunity to represent other Conestoga College students and have their voices heard about the issues that matter to them. It also will allow you to network with Student Leaders from across Canada, advocate at all levels of government to improve student supports and learn and grow professionally!

 

Important 2025-2026 Board of Directors Election Updates

Throughout the Winter 2025 term CSI has been running its Board of Directors elections and we want to ensure you’re staying informed on the latest election activity.?Following the first nomination period from February 3 – March 3, 2025, CSI is still seeking students to fill FOUR (4) Director positions on our Student Board of Directors. Additionally, just announced, CSI is also looking to secure a new Vice President to work alongside the Board of Directors through the 2025 – 2026 term.  

 

Director Position Eligiblity and Requirements

Elected Directors will serve a one-year term from May 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026. To be eligible for the director position a current student cannot be enrolled in a program that ends before April 30, 2026.  

All eligibility requirements will be verified through the student portal. To run for a director position on the CSI Board you must satisfy all of the following criteria: 

  • Be a CSI fee paying member, 
  • Avoid applying for or holding employment with Conestoga Students Inc. while serving on the Board of Directors, 
  • Submit your student achievement record, indicating a minimum 70% program average (current directors must provide a program pass), 
  • Maintain good standing with Conestoga College and adhere to the CSI Code of Conduct, 
  • Be at least 18 years old, 
  • Be enrolled in a Conestoga College program that finishes after April 30, 2026, 
  • Read and comprehend the Board Job Products Policy (included in this application), 
  • Commit to visiting Conestoga College satellite campuses during your term, 
  • Commit to attending all monthly Board meetings and round table meetings throughout the term, 
  • Attendance at mandatory training dates is required, 
  • Complete the CSI’s Board Election Training Modules before submitting your nomination package (link to modules provided in this package and below),
  • Fulfill all requirements outlined in the nomination package. 

 

Vice President Position Eligibility and Requirements

To be considered for the Vice President position, you must apply to be a Vice President candidate. This full-time role is open to those graduating from a Conestoga College program in April 2025.

Any student seeking to apply for this role must meet the following requirements: 

  • Maintained a 70% average in the prior semester, 
  • Fully read and understood the expectations and requirements of the Vice President’s Job Description (available in the application package), 
  • Fully read and understood the Director’s Code of Conduct and can commit to the responsibilities of the Vice President’s job duties as outlined (available in the application package), 
  • Are able and willing to serve a one-year term of full-time employment May 1st, 2025– April 30th, 2026, 
  • Have a clean Conestoga Rights and Responsibilities and CSI Code of Conduct Record, 
  • Have fully read and understood the selection process (available in the application package), 
  • All information that is required is complete and correct, 
  • Have attached your resume including relevant work or volunteer experience, 
  • Have included a 500-word essay outlining who you are, why you are running and what makes you a great student leader, 
  • A Certificate of Completion of CSI’s Board Election Training Modules must be submitted with your application package. The election modules can be found below, 
  • Will graduate from a Conestoga College program in April 2025.

Elections FAQs

  • When are nomination packages due?

    Students interested in running in the election as a Director can request a nomination package on Thursday, March 6 at 8:30 AM. Students interested in applying for the Vice President role can request an application package on Thursday, March 6 at 8:30 AM. Completed Director and Vice President packages must be Primary Electoral Officer (PEO) by Friday, March 14 at 12 PM.

  • How can I learn about Director candidates?

    CSI will share information online about the candidates during the election period in Winter 2025. Candidate posters will also be posted at all Conestoga campuses during this time, and you can get to know candidates at on-campus booths and on CSI’s Instagram.
