You may be wondering, what is the legal protection program? What can we discuss with the helpline? What does legal representation include?
Let us answer your questions!
The Legal Protection Program
Everyone has the right to equal access to the legal system.
Finding and hiring a lawyer can be challenging, time-consuming and expensive. This is why we have a legal protection program that provides students quick access to legal counselling in all areas of law, including criminal law.
Full-time domestic and international students have access to a toll-free legal helpline that can connect them with a lawyer in their province of study. International students living outside of Canada can receive legal advice by requesting support via chat with the Student Care Centre.
The legal protection program is a mandatory $30 fee that you pay on your semesterly invoice.
