Hello Condors, My name is Pranav Gandhi.
I am part of the Board of Directors.
Here are my stance on some very hot-button issues for you to get to know me better.
- Why did you want to run for the BOD?
The most cliché answer is that I wanted to help other students. But the truth is the truth, and it cannot change. I am myself an international student and I know how hard it can be for students to study wholeheartedly and also work to make their ends meet. We all face problems in our life at some point, and I wanted to help those who are in need. Also, running for BOD was a great opportunity for me to network and start my journey of self-development. I knew this is a golden opportunity for me to serve our students, help for our community, advocate on their behalf, and grow as an individual.
- What has been your favourite part about studying/working from home?
As much as I miss In-class learning, there are few advantages about studying/working from home such as now we don’t have to leave our house 30 minutes before the class, now we are just few clicks away from attending lectures/meetings. Thus, saving us time, money, and gets us more comfort. My favourite part about studying from home is that I can study with my own pace, as I can rewatch the recorded lectures even if unfortunately I missed a class.
- What is your favourite TV Show/Movie?
My favourite TV show is hands down Breaking Bad. I think there are only few who will ever disagree that it is the best show ever. I like how the series kept me on the edge and wanting to know what’s going to happen next. I remember when I started to watch the show, I would plan to watch one or two episodes before I go to sleep and ended up watching probably four to five. Personally, I believe that Breaking Bad had all the ingredients for a show to keep its viewers engaged and thrilled.
- Why did you choose Conestoga College?
I chose Conestoga College because it has everything what a student might need to excel in their career. Facilities such as Career counselling, dedicated and renowned faculty, updated and fully equipped labs/classrooms and much more. Conestoga also provided me with the course that I was looking for with a very practical and reality-based approach, which will help me to adapt the real-life work environment once I graduate. I was also attracted to this college because it has amazing fitness center which helps students to maintain their physical health while studying and also providing many student clubs and organizations for me to take part in.
- What is one thing you think the students need to do in their life?
TRAVEL. There is no better way to explore and understand different cultures around the world. Apart from that, travelling also helps in personal growth and makes you take a step out of your comfort zone to become a responsible and independent person. I look travelling as an investment in myself and honestly, who wouldn’t like to take a break from their normal routine. It doesn’t always have to be extravagant; you can always start by visiting near-by destinations.
- Tell us two truths and a lie!
a)My cooking skills are pathetic
b)I have been to 25 countries
c)I drink 5 cups of coffee a day
- Do you listen to any podcasts? What topic would it be?
I listen to a podcast available on youtube called “the internet said so…”. The podcast is basically about absurd and weird facts.
- If you were in charge of the playlist, what song would you play?
I would listen to “khariyat”, a Bollywood song as it reminds me of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput as he was a very talented actor and a good person.
- What is the biggest gift you have ever gotten?
Parents. Parents are the best gift God has given to me.
- If you could travel back in time, where would you go?
Back to when I used to be a toddler. How amazing it used to be back then where we were fed, could sleep all day, every day and etc.
- What advice would you give to your younger self?
Start to invest in BitCoin. lol
- What’s your favourite waste of time?
- If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
- What’s your favorite country to visit?
Budapest, the capital of Hungary is one of the best and the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to.
Welcome to Conestoga!
