Frequently asked questions
When does my Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan start?
Your Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan will start on the first day of class.
If you are in our English language program (EAS- English for Academic Studies) your insurance will be automatically ordered each semester. If you are in any other program, your health insurance will be ordered when you start classes and it will expire on August 31.
What if I arrive before the first day of class?
Please email Studentcare Representative to arrange Early Arrival Insurance.
If I have my own health insurance can I decline (“opt out of”) the Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan?
No, you cannot opt-out of the Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan. We know that Studentcare offers our students an excellent plan with great benefits at a reasonable cost. We want to make sure you are protected.
What is covered in my Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan?
Please visit the Studentcare website. You can download your Plan Reference Guide and Detailed Benefits Booklet from the website.
What about my dependents who are in Canada with me?
If you are coming to Canada with a spouse and/or dependent(s), they will not be covered under your Conestoga International Health Insurance Plan. Should you require additional health insurance for any of your family members, you may order Dependent Insurance directly through Studentcare.
