September is action-packed for Conestoga College, so get ready for a super exciting and event-filled first month of school. Listed below are various events and important dates to look forward to and mark down in your calendar to get the most out of your Conestoga experience:

Welcome Back concert featuring Kardinal Offishall and Karl Wolf!

After a six-year hiatus the Conestoga College Welcome Back concert is back in full force! Get ready to raise the roof in the Rec Centre and dance the night away.

There will be a double-bill headliner with Canadian rap and pop stars Kardinal Offishall and Karl Wolf.


Tickets are $5 with each ticket sale going towards Shinerama, which is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser that supports research and care for the incurable and fatal cystic fibrosis, a disease that affects the digestive system and lungs. GRT Bus Pass Sales

Purchase your bus passes at the Service Hub now until September 15 and hop on and off the bus easily and efficiently. Just show your bus pass on all buses in the Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge area and get around this city for grocery shopping, heading to the movies, heading home after school and all other travelling purposes.

Leadership Ambassador Program

The Leadership Ambassador program is an excellent volunteer opportunity where you can get involved with all kinds of different workshops to help develop your own personal and professional leadership skills. Different leadership initiatives include Textbook for Change, the annual Food Drive and Hygiene for Homeless. Hours to volunteer are very accessible and frequent, so feel free to sign up at lunch time, after class or even at 6 p.m. and help in joining an excellent cause. Looking for ways to get involved in the Conestoga community and make friends too? Then join a club, or even create a club of your choice! Clubs Day is the perfect opportunity to find your niche and join a part of your school community that interests you, whether that be music, sports, trivia or salsa dancing there’s no shortage of clubs to join. Conestoga’s Got Talent

Do you have a hidden, or not-so hidden talent that you want to show the (Conestoga) world? Why not sign up for the Conestoga’s Got Talent Show on Sept. 20? Sign up in the Service Hub now to reserve your spot. It’ll be taking place from 11:00am-2:00pm in The Venue, so fulfill your dreams of performing on a main stage now!

CSI Health Plan Opt In/Opt Out

It is important to maintain your physical, mental and spiritual health throughout your student career. CSI’s wellness service is designed to keep you healthy and motivated to do your best in class.
Health Plan Information

Change of coverage

If you are starting your academic year in September, then you have until the strict deadline of Friday September 29 to change your coverage. You can opt out of the health plan if you have alternate health care coverage. If you are an international student, if you are studying at Conestoga College part time, or if you have dependants who you would like to receive the same coverage you do, then you can opt into the health plan for a fee.

CSI Fest is a fun opportunity to mingle with other students and get the chance to win fun prizes while you’re at it. The three-day fest takes place in the lower atrium, where you will receive a special passport in the form of a ballot. Each table at the fest will represent all eight of the core services that CSI offers, and it will include a question. You then can answer the question on the back of the ballot and get a chance to win any of the eight awesome prizes available over the three-day span. Some of these prizes include a brand new laptop and a smart TV that will be perfect for your dorm room set-up. Trivia Tuesday

Are you a trivia buff? Then you’ll love our Trivia Tuesdays that we host every Tuesday in The Venue! Find a team of 2-6 people and compete in a general knowledge trivia contest for a chance for you and your team to win a prize of a $50 gift certificate for food at The Venue!

Live Music Thursday

If you’re a lover of live music performances then you’re going to love Live Music Thursdays. Every Thursday from September 14th until the end of the year, enjoy some live music from acoustic sets to rock bands from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in The Venue!
